Facebook announces its data sharing tool for Google Photos
Facebook has announced its new feature few hours ago as a tool which allows the users to transfer photos and videos from Facebook to another online service, Google Photos. So, it will skip re-uploading medias one by one which have been saved.
The project was launched in 2018 known as Data Transfer Project, planned to arrange data in a common format. Due to that users will able to transfer different medias from one service(platform) to another. The new tool is currently introduced in Ireland first, will be available around the world in early 2020. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Twitter and several other companies are engaging with this ‘Data Transfer Project’.
Users will no longer require to backup photos and videos on their phones it automatically be backed up in the Google’s service. ‘’The photo transfer tool we’re starting to roll out today is based on code developed through our participation in the open-source Data Transfer Project.” Said by Steve Satterfield. The director of Privacy and Public Policy at Facebook.
