Massive security Breach exposes over 23 gigabytes of biometric data

 

According to a reports published by The Guardians,the Israeli cybersecurity researchers Noam Rotem and Ran Locar who working in vpnmentor has been discoveded a massive security breach of biometric credentials and personal information.This contain fingerprint data , facial recognition information, unencrypted usernames and passwords, and other personal information of users of Suprema’s Biostar 2 security platform.Around 20 million records in 23 gigabytes of data explose to this breach.
However the security breach has been fixed at the movement by the experts and there are no any evidence for unautharized accessed these unsecured data.Although the real problem is you can’t change fingerprint or facial data like just simply changing a password.
Biostar 2 security platform which created and developing by ‘Suprema’ is used by many countries like USA, UK, Japan, India, and the UAE for their control access to facilities in warehouses or office buildings. The Guardian reports that Supreme’s Biostar 2 platform will integrated into AEOS, a separate security system used across 83 countries by organizations including governments and banks
